Because disaster victims and their families are exceptionally vulnerable to scams, extortion, and harassment, all direct telephone numbers are masked by default. Unmasking requires a stated emergency justification and is logged with rate-limiting and IP tracking.
Photographs submitted are verified for MIME integrity, stripped of executable payloads, and stored securely. Photos of minors and hospitalized patients are moderated to prevent exploitation.
When a person is confirmed Found / Safe, contact details may be archived from public indexes while retaining essential statistical records for official disaster post-mortem reporting.
